Ngee Ann Polytechnic Graduation Attire Dress Code

  1. All graduands participating in the Graduation Ceremony will be required to wear the Graduation Attire.
  2. The NP Graduation Attire consists of a one-piece robe as shown below.

The Graduation Ceremony is a solemn and dignified occasion that celebrates the achievement of our graduands. In this regard, graduands are reminded to dress smartly in formal attire. The following are the recommended dress code to go with the Graduation Attire.

Female GraduandsMale Graduands
Dress / Blouse, preferably with long or ¾ sleeves and high collar

Long-sleeves Business shirt (Plain or Striped – light colour) and Tie. Ties would be sold at the NPCC on the actual graduation day.

Note: Male graduands are required to wear a tie.

Skirt length should be around knees or longerDark coloured pants
Dress pants are permittedDark coloured shoes with socks
Court shoes or pumps or Dress shoes 

Note:

Women generally wear a lightweight dress/ blouse and skirt,
that is shorter than the graduation attire so it does not hang below their attire

Note :

Men generally choose to wear dark
trousers and a dress shirt and tie under their
graduation attire

Recommended Hair appearance

The following are the recommended Hair appearance to go with the Graduation Attire:

Unacceptable Dress Code

The following are examples of unacceptable dressing:

General 
  • Casual Pants/Jeans, T-shirts, Polo Shirts, Shorts, Culottes, Bermudas, Sports Shoes, Sneakers, Slippers, Open Toe Sandals.
  • Any attire considered provocative or revealing e.g. low cut, bare midriff, transparent top, blouse unbuttoned
Female:
Mini-skirts/Skirts with exceptionally high slits.
Male:
Any shirt without tie

*IMPORTANT: Graduands who are found inappropriately dressed may not be presented on stage.
